November 2025
CHECK YOUR BALLS DAYS. Having a Ball is growing! This year, we were present in no fewer than six Swiss cities with our screening tents. In total, 11 urologists and 2 oncologists generously gave their time to provide free screenings for more than 400 men who visited our centrally located stands. Their dedication, along with the trust and openness of those who came forward to be checked, made this year’s campaign one of our most impactful yet.
- 1 November – Bern
- 8 November – Bienne & Fribourg
- 15 November – Lausanne & Neuchâtel
- 22 November – Bellinzona
A massive thank you as well to all our volunteers, who handed out more than a thousand flyers and shared vital information with the public throughout the campaign.

Corta’Blue Race Cortaillod.
We were delighted to be present once again at the annual Corta’bleu soapbox race, taking part with our very own soapbox and an information stand.
This year’s fundraiser supported three causes: Having a Ball, the Ligue neuchâteloise contre le cancer, and Movember Switzerland. We are deeply grateful to the Corta’bleu team for their generosity, their energy, and their continued commitment to supporting organisations dedicated to cancer awareness and care.
From 1 to 26 OCTOBer. UICC
Having a Ball was honoured to be invited by the UICC (Union for International Cancer Control) to take part in an international photo exhibition held at the Esplanade du Mont-Blanc in Geneva.
The exhibition, centred on people-focused care, presented powerful portraits and personal quotes from patients, families, and caregivers from around the world. Among the images displayed prominently was Joey’s portrait — a moving reminder of his story, his courage, and the spirit that continues to inspire us all, here and beyond.

Having a Ball’s 2nd Annual General Meeting
Having a Ball’s 2nd Annual General Meeting took place at the HUB in Neuchâtel on March 19th – St Joseph’s Day – rather fitting in view of the fact that our Association was founded and named in honour and memory of Joseph Barnes.
Twenty-five members were present, along with one of our honorary members, Dr. Sanjeev Vamadevan. 2024 was a very busy year for us, but we have ambitious plans to further extend our mission to educate the public about testicular cancer.

Having a Ball was honoured to have been invited to a World Cancer Day event at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. We joined many other associations committed to supporting cancer sufferers and their families. A very informative conference and personal stories highlighted the importance of awareness, education and solidarity in the fight against cancer.
We organized an information day on testicular cancer with the urologist, Dr. Sanjeev Vamadevan, who checked the testicles of no fewer than 60 men in a special heated tent. A first in Switzerland.
