Our Saturday Night Balls at the Case à Chocs was definitely a night to remember! Incredible performances from talented artists who generously donated their time, all in support of a great cause. Thanks to everyone who made this fundraiser event a resounding success—we had a ball!

Having a Ball was honoured to have been invited to a World Cancer Day event at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. We joined many other associations committed to supporting cancer sufferers and their families. A very informative conference and personal stories highlighted the importance of awareness, education and solidarity in the fight against cancer.

This year, our team-members were located in 4 Swiss cities: Bern, Biel, Neuchâtel and Lausanne. 275 men have been checked by our urologists.

Having a Ball was the guest of honor at the soapbox race organized by the Corta’bleu association. The goal of Corta’bleu is to create friendly events to raise money for health-related causes. It was truly a wonderful day of solidarity!

Having a Ball Pétanque Tournament

The first edition of what will become an annual event: the Having a Ball Pétanque Tournament at the Esplanade of the Collégiale in Neuchâtel. 48 teams & 101 players. Great weather, delicious food from the Lo Montagnon food truck, and music, made it a day filled with good cheer and camaraderie.

To quench everyone’s thirst, there was a bar serving cold Dr Gabs beer and wine from the Caves de la Ville de Neuchâtel.  Many thanks to the city of Neuchâtel for supporting the fundraiser financially and our many members who came to the Collégiale to support us – to watch the pétanque action or simply to chat with friends and enjoy the splendid views on a late summer’s day.

Saturday Night Balls

A benefit music evening to help finance our November Check Your Balls day at the Case à Chocs in Neuchâtel. Live music by Raphael Weber (Raw) and Benoît Perriard (Cat’s Eye) at the Queen Kong Club, and plenty of DJ music at the Interlope featuring Sarah Grabacloud, Maestrotchang, Nina Paqari, kAMA, and Pierprog & Pete Raw.

Pre-race day Cortableu

Having a Ball participated in a pre-race day organized by the Association Cortableu. Many soapbox carts that will be taking part in the race on November 2, 2024, gathered at Garage Lanthemann in Cortailod for a fun day to test our brakes. There were drinks and food stands, lots of sunshine, and good cheer! And of course, we were able to spread our message of testicular cancer awareness. We are ready for November!

Annual General Assembly

21 members were present for the President’s report on Having a Ball’s 2023 events and 2024 projects. Also present: our honorary member, Dr Dino De Bari, our legal advisor, Donika Gnäegi and our social media creator, Sarah Adatte.

Ose Thérapies

Having a Ball co-sponsored an event at “Ose Thérapies”, Lausanne – which provided a platform for testicular cancer patients and those in remission to share their experiences. Thank you, Dr. Dominik Berthold, for the opportunity!

We accompanied the Neuchâtel Cancer League to an employee health day at Procadrans, La Chaux-de Fonds.

We were invited by Dr Berardino De Bari, Head of the Radiation Oncology Dpt. at RHNE, to share our message at his public conference on “Radiotherapy and prostate cancer”.

We organized an information day on testicular cancer with the urologist, Dr. Sanjeev Vamadevan, who checked the testicles of no fewer than 60 men in a special heated tent. A first in Switzerland.
